Betrayed Book Review

Betrayed (Guardian #2)

If you haven’t read Awakened (Guardian #1) by Ednah Walters then stop what your doing and read it immediately because this is the second book in the Guardian Legacy.   Betrayed is YA mythology/fantasy book.  It picks up a few months after Awakened left off.

Lil is trying to find balance between her regular life, love life and secret life training to become a Guardian.  Early in the book her boyfriend Bran starts to pull away and is keeping secrets from her.  Her demonic father, Valafar, starts contacting her and she finds someone has betrayed her and is feeding Valafar all the information he needs to stalk her.

The book really picks up halfway through and you cannot put it down.  I loved the mystery and twists and turns.  Just when you think you have it figured out it the storyline gets even deeper and more complex without getting confusing.  The existing characters are all very strong and unique; I also loved the addition of the new characters.  Sometime new characters are brought into the second book just to add variety; this book is not like that at all.  All the new characters add depth and new dimensions to the book.

This is a fantastic follow up to Awakened.  The next book in the series, Hunted, will be published April 2nd, 2013 so get caught up on the first two books before April. I give this book five out of five donuts.
